Richard Stubbs did a great job on these--the design is nice, welds were top-notch, there was no welding spatter to be found and his customer service was the best I've seen. I prepped them with 2 coats of primer, 4 coats of Rustoleum "Midnight Metallic" paint and used 1" 3M grip tape on the top. On with the pics:

Man, those sliders look great.....that and the Tundra brakes are my next mods.

looks oddly familiar, right down to the grip tape



your passengers will appreciate the 15 degree cant. and by the way, the grip tape does last a long time. mine just peeled off after about 2.5 years of daily use. on the passenger side, it is holding just fine

Let us know how you like the grip tape. I thought about putting some one mine, but shot that idea down because my calfs and shins rub on my sliders when I get in and out, so the tape would scratch me up pretty bad.

The powdercoating on my sliders actually gives decent grip anyway so I didn't worry too much about it.

The grip tape is good idea in my opinion.

I bought some stuff called "El Gripo". Its spray-on grip. I know some guys that use it for making skim-boards so you dont have to wax them. It looks pretty sweet I'll post pictures of it when I try it o ut.

My leg tends to rub the outside of the slider--not the top, so I have no complaints yet.

I often load kayaks and mountain bikes on the roof and I figure the grip tape will help keep me out of the hospital.

I have the same sliders and they are great. They saved me a few weeks back when I came down on a large rock when I was wheelin. And some kid opened his door and hit my truck, his door got a good ding from my sliders. Best mod to date for me. Stubbs makes good stuff.

yeah... ive had two people open their doors and nail my sliders. saved my doors but crushed theirs (probably). both times i was sitting in my car when they did it and didn't even flinch or check if they did anything. dumbasses!

Several people have tried Line-X and powdercoating. I think most people want something that is easy to touch up. No surface treatment is going to holdup under the force of a 4000 pound vehicle dragging over a rock.
