strange sound when turning.

This only happens after a cold start. When I turn the steering wheel it makes a noise similar to a sick owl hoot (or maybe a sea lion). I can kind of feel it it in the steering wheel. After the truck warms up it no longer occurs. Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Jeff

Maybe the power steering pump or fluid level? Or a loose belt?

:pig:cake, sounds like a belt issue (fluid is stiff when cold, pump harder to turn, belt slips a little - my dime-store logic anyway)

BBB - if yours sounds like a creaking, all you have to do is lube your steering stops.

I'm trying to wait on committing to the PA job until I see if I get an offer from Pioneer in Iowa. But yeah, that would be cool to swing by! And If I end up in IA, i'll be able to come over there more often!

Yes, this is an excellent question you present. Currently, I could not tell you, maybe I drank it . Seeing as I have yet to get my lighting situation squared away in the garage and the monkey off my back, err: my wagon? I will have to check into this another day. After I refill I will keep a close eye on it. Who knows, I could have bought it empty? With the new pad I have not really had my head on straight, a very long list of things to do.
