Straightening out a brush guard??

Straightening out a brush guard??
my friend has a manik brush guard that saved his whole front end from being trashed wehn he slid at school on some ice into a pole. but he guard is bent in towards the passenger side fender. their is a small crease in the guard on the lower bar about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way towards the passenger side and the crease is facing in. what would be the best way to straightne it out? we were thiking hit the back side of the crease out a smidge then bend the bracket where it mounts to the frame?? the local 4x4 store wnats over 100 bucks to do it and thats a little much
