Stock vs. Current vs. New Suspension options

Hey guys, I have been reading up a ton on suspension and lifts but am a bit confused as to 97 4runner stock height front/rear.

Mine measure at 21" front, 23" rear, appear to be stock springs and aftermarket NSOR (North Shore Off Road) shocks.

From what I've seen the average stock is 20" front and rear (for close to 97) -> http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-ge...lp-wanted.html

Looking to do a max of 3" suspension lift. NOTE: If I'm being stupid couldn't find
a post exactly describing 3" TRD / OME rear / bilstein setup then just link me and you can publicly scorn me If not, continue below.

I watched this
and I'm looking to do the same type of setup with TRD coils / bilstein 5100 front and OME / bilstein 5100 rear, the parts he has yield 2" of lift without any apparent issues. I've seen the bilstein 5100 shock in 3" lift kits, so I'm guessing I just need longer coils to achieve 3". I'm also a fan of slightly higher rear instead of completely level, any pros or cons for offset or level front / rear?

EDIT: Just saw the 5100's description and says max of 2.5" lift, so should I consider other 3"+ shocks or do a 1" body lift.

NOTE: Reasoning behind this is better ride quality on-road + bit more flex off road (I don't do any rock crawling and stuff but would like a better quality ride off road, feels pretty rough currently.

Springs are getting pretty rusted and rough, overall big compression on my current shocks feels good and smooth but going over small bumps at slow or medium speed on a logging road is super rough. Wondering if this or anything would help that. Also need an alignment soon so figure might as well get some new parts in there and get some more flex before doing so.

Looking to get 33's in the future as well, so might as well order a body lift at the same time and install it later, want to just lift the body enough to clear, looking like 1.5"?

the tundra bilstein 5100 combined with the tundra trd coils will give you a 3" lift up front with the coil perch placed at the middle position (3rd position from the bottom). as for the OMEs, i'm not familiar with them.
btw, for a 1997 4wd, the 3" lift would mean a measurement of approximately 23" from the hub center to the bottom of the fender

So the tundra bilstein 5100 is different from the regular bilstein 5100?

I'd like to do bilstein 5100 / tundra trd coils for 3" up front but would like to keep it raked, with about 4-5" in the back, for load sag + aggressive look.

I'm thinking my best rear option are LC coils or OME and a shock that can handle 4", what do you think? What would my shock options be at 4" in the rear?

Bilstein manufactures the 5100 for different vehicles and with different valving and adjustment positions. for example the Tacoma 5100 has only 3 adjustment positions whereas the tundra 5100 has 5 positions. also, the tacome 5100 has softer valving compared to the tundra 5100.

i would go with the LX450 coils for a 4"-4.5" lift or 7.5 wrap LC80 front coils for a 3.5" lift for the rear and matched with the bilstein 5100 or lc80 rear shocks.

here's a good site for more info on suspension setups for the 1997 4Runner:
