Sticky door switches

Has anybody had any luck cleaning the door switches? My 1998's are pretty intermittent (usually they don't detect the door is open), even the tailgate. I'll replace them if necessary, but if I can use some elbow grease and put that moola towards off-road parts, I'd prefer it

I recently had this problem on my left rear door. I took the switch out and couldn't see anything physically wrong with it, but it wasn't working right so off to autozone and $15 later it was fixed.
