So I got my bushings in today, tomorrow my dad and i are going to put them in. Any tips i should be aware of? Do i need to worry about torquing them or will just tightening them be ok? If so what are the torque specs? Thanks

I just completed this task about 2-3 weeks ago. Everything went well, it really isn't too bad at all. I had some buddies help. Be sure and get that piece drilled out to 9/16 though, maybe even ahead of time to ensure no complications. I would also suggest taking the wheels/tires off as this makes it much easier to maneuver the rack.

Well I got it all done. took about 3 hours to do becuase i needed some liquid wrench to soak in. Then everyhting was already the correct size and went in smoothly. i need to go redo set one of them cuz its a little quished.

how does it feel now? was it really bad to begin with? do u wheel often?

its much better. i need to re-center then rack. its off a little and i need to fix one of the bushings i think i didnt get it all the way in and it squished out a little then i thought/want. other then that its great so far. No i dont really wheel much yet. just got the truck and i want to get it paid off first.

If you have any kind of wobble (thats not related to tire balance or anything), or bump steer then it is definitely worth it. My steering wheel was even cocked a little bit to the right even though the truck tracked straight and the bushings fixed that too (maybe the rack was just out of wack..who knows). It also took care of that "loose" feeling that the steering had. I would recommend it to any truck with over 100k on the clock, especially if you wheel hard.

Its a cheap fix and fairly simple install, just takes some time.

Thats very interesting cuz my wheel is cocked a little to the right. I figured out why it wasnt looking right when i was tightening the drivers side bolt. i put the washers on the wrong part of the bolt so im going to fix that later this morning. I wonder if the PO has it aligned while the bushings were out of whack and not that it is fixed it shows how much the steering was adjusted.

Edit Alignment was done at 113k, that could very well be why my steering wheel is cocked.
