Question Steering rack boot leakÉ

First time for a question here.

2002 Tundra. I noticed a stain on the bottom of the passanger side inside steering rack boot. It looks like really light oil. I cleaned it off and the boot is perfect: no cracks, no evidece of fluid in the boot. Steering is normal and the power steering fluid level is good. One week later and a light film is back again. Everthing else looks fine with no signs of leaks from the rack or anywhere else. Final twist: My wifes 2002 Sequoia has exactly the same thing!!!

Any thoughts?

TIA

Rob

Maybe they are self lubricating?

Just to update, the leak dissappeared on its own with no change in PS fluid level. My guess was that it was some sort of assembly lube that seeped out.

Is there any slop in the rack and pinion? Jack it up and try shaking the wheel side to side. If there's some slop then it might be leaking past the seal.

No problems at all now. No more leaking. No excessive play. Fluid level in reserviour is unchnaged.
