Stealing toyotas the easy way
Not sure how many are aware of this, but on older toy trucks with the oringinal door locks and ignition locks,A worn down key(from regular use)will open and start many other toys.I've know this for years but my buddy found out the hard way,His truck was stolen from a parking lot,and learned two years later when parts were found in a raided chop shop. They drove around and just tried using the keys to open and start the truck.I've started three of my friends trucks(84-88)with my orinigal key.Not trying to give any thiefs out there any ideas, but you should replace your cylinders with new ones.

Yeah I've read about it here at Yotatech, but I think the post got deleted because people (visitors) may get ideas. Mods will probably delete this thread also.

How much are new locks? How much for just doors as opposed to doors and ignition. My driver's side door won't lock sometimes, so I think the cylinder is bad or something.

This is from memory(so don't trust it)their cheap 20 for two door locks and about they same for ign cylinder....The only prob with that is now you have to use two different keys unless you get a locksmith to key them alike.

The website doesn't have a lot of information about where you can buy the Solex locks, but you can try e-mailing them.

85 on 44s
I think I'll go borrow my neighbor's 85 on 44s to test some of these theories... Of course, once I get in it and get it cranked I'll have to take it for a spin, just to be sure.

i know on my dad's lexus, if you lock it with the remote, then open with the key, the alarm actually goes off.
