starting issues

I have a 93 truck. 22re, 5 spd tranny. Sometimes I try to start it, and the starter won't even click. I stop and try again, then it treis to start, but won't turn over. Sometimes it only clicks. Sometimes it turns over, but roughly, then I give it gas and it is fine. Any Ideas?

Clean up your battery terminals, and your starter to battery connections. Then have your battery load tested.

Dont skip over the relay wire either, recently had the same problem with my 4runner so I swapped starter with a know good one that I have figuring it was the contacts, replace the battery, main power cable, checked all the grounds. Of course the last thing I check is the stupid relay wire at the starter , it wasnt making a good tight contact and would do the intermittent starting "click". Crimped the conector alittle and fixed it.
