wheres the best place to buy them? i found some at central 4wd for $79.12. they're about the only place i can find them though. they're for an 84 4x4 pu.

have you ever ordered anything from that company? isn't central 4wd the place where some of the guys on here have had problems with?

According to this page, they are for 79-95 pickups, and are made by Pro Comp. Pro Comp would seem pretty reliable to me. I don't know about Central 4WD though, never dealt with them.

I think the general consensus is that "quality" and "Pro Comp" should not be in the same sentence. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong. :flipoff2:

thats not necesaarily true... how many people actually have the pro-comp brake lines? and how many of you can actually say they suck?

Actually, that was more of a blanket statement saying that everything Pro Comp makes sucks. Not just their brakelines. Sorry, I've not heard good things.

If I've ever heard, even three times removed, that a company sucks, the last thing I would test the theory on would be brake parts. The reality is that most of these companies don't actually "make" their own stuff. They likely job mostly everything out and put their name on it. For that reason, it MIGHT be just fine. Who wants to find out the hard way though.

My position is to support the companies that truly support our sport. You will not find a company more deserving of your purchase than Marlin. You simply cannot measure what he has done for the 4WD community and the innovation he has brought to market.

i have the procomp brakelines, they has never been an issue... and they are actually made by a company called Earl's that has been around in the racing world for years and has built up a name for itself.

procomp actually does have some good stuff... their tires are good, just they are so retailized now that they are just another company... they have also made lift kits for vehicles in the past that no one made for awhile and htey stand behind their products... yeah so they may be some big conglomerate company, so what? how many of you can actually say oh i have had this lift and it was crap and left me broken in moab? or whatever... who can actually say this for other companies as well, is superlift a crappy company becuase they have all sorts of lifts for the ford explorer, but no matter how many updates they make to their part, the ra bushing mount always cracks? no, it means they just need and should figure out a way to correct the problem.....

was it firestones fualt people died in the ford explroer rollovers, maybe partially, but they are not solely to blame....

that place doesn't have them for an 84 pu though or i'd buy from them. they have some pretty good prices on there lines. i'll probably end up going with the ones from marlin.

I wasn't saying that the Pro Comp lines "were" reliable, just that since they have been around for a while, I thought they "should" be reliable. The only thing I've bought from them so far is a 3"x30' strap.
