Question Stabilizer Bar Broken - Dangerous?

I was changing the oil on my '98 SR5 4Runner when I noticed that the linkage to the stabilizer bar was broken. I recall 6 months or so ago hearing a loud pop but not being able to figure out what it was- I'm sure that's what it was now.

How dangerous is it for me to drive with this broken linkage? Fix it tomorrow? Fix it next month?

if you break the anti-sway bar itself- i'd LOVE to see that carnage! if it is just the end link(s), it is an easyand fairly cheap fix. you will experience some excessive body roll in turns; or worse yet- handling it in winds on the hwy is probably a challenge? for it being only one side, i'd disconnect the other side to balance it out (if you don't or can't get it fixed right away). but do take this in mind- don't just repair ONE side! -as shocks, brakes, etc are normally, and SHOULD be replaced in pairs to avoid erratic handling and so forth. in the meantime- slow down!

In short, no. The sway bars are the first thing I remove when I get a 'yota. Drove 2k+ miles with my 2nd gen 4runner loaded to the roof without them. Just my opinion.

Some people run without them at all, but you need to adjust your driving as the on-road handling suffers at the expense of off-road performance. I would also tell you to replace end-links in pairs, and I would suggest fixing rather than removing.
