Sport vs Limited options

What are the different options between the two, I think the hood scoop and maybe a locking diff?

Locking diff is available on both. Not sure if yo ucan get leather in sport edition. Hoodscoop only available on sport. Not sure if sport offers dual power seats and the electronic climate control like the limited does either. For the most part most all 4runners are created pretty equal aside from gadgets, hood scoops, and painted bumpers. The only option I really cared about was the V6 and rear locking diff. Everything else is just gravy.

I assume they are the same....I posted 1999-2001 cuz I don't want to spend the extra $$ for the 2002. Guess I should have said 3rd Gen.

SR5 claddings have different endcaps for flares&running boards. Doesnt Limiteds have the extra "cladding" on the doors? some are colormatched and some are different colors. As far as interior options, ones i noticed are Digital climate control and Leather seats w/power. I was told the only Factory issued leather is oak color, everything else is aftermarket.

I think the 02 limited pearl white with matching cladding looks so nice. A little girly and pretty but still is nice to look at.

in 99, 00 you could only get a 5spd in the sport--limited auto only.

Thats the selling point for me... its has to have a manual trans or else I don't look at it.
I almost was in a serious accident b/c of an automatice transmission.

What happen b/c of an auto?? Also, different wheels between 00 and 01. Autotrader.com will give info on each model and what changed from the previous year.

one day up at school (WVU in Morgantown, WV) I was coming down a hill during a snow/ice/rain storm so the road where all slushy... well I touched the brakes and all 4 wheels locked up, I let off the brake the mph jumped back up to the mphs that I was at... well I manage to get the trans into a lower gear and I controled the car to a stop. But that was scary, having all 4 wheel locked up going around a corner with no control of being about to use the engine braking. Then again this was in my sister's Caviler.

But with a manual trans I could downshift with easy and come to a stop. With a manual transmission its easier to control the engine.

With my 4Runner I could go down the same hill the next winter and not have any scary situations... Then again I have been driving a manual trans since I started driving 7 years ago (15y/o to 21y/o). ['88 Ford Bronco II 2.9 5 spd, '88 4Runner 22RE 5 spd, '95 Ford Probe GT 2.5-V6 5 spd, and now '94 Runner 3VZE 5 spd]. I have never had any problems driving in the snow with a manual, I had the caliver b/c I blew a head gasket in my '88 Runner.

There are quite a few '99 & '00 5-spd's on this board. They are definitely the cat's meow.
