Speedometer change w/bigger tires?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knew if you lost or gained a few miles per hour by changing the size of your tires? I had stock runner tires on then I got the new bigger tires and was just wondering if that had any kind of impact on the miles per hour you go? Is the speedometer connected (somehow) to the front tire or is it connected to the tranny? Anyone know? Just a curious question. Thanks for any info. in advance!!

Yes, larger tires will read slower on the speedometer. Use that site in Mark's post, I used the same one, to get the new speed. Remember also it will change your odometer. When I got a GPS unit I no longer have to worry as much as the speed is pretty accurate and I use its trip meter for guesstimating my oil change intervals.

What would a 31x10.50R15 be? 265/75R15?

What about a 33x12.50R15?

I found this one which works backwards from what you're asking but you can get it figured out.
