Speedo and tach after regear

Will a dakota digital work in a 91 pickup v6 4x4 or is the speedo cable driven? Also how would I install a small practical tach for my truck, and are there any brands you guys would recommend

One way to tell, get under the truck, passenger side and look up at the transfer case. If you have some wires connected near the rear output flange, then it is electronic, if there is a heavy, stiff speedo cable, it is mechanical.

Probably possible, you would need to swap the speedometer out as well and get the VSS for the back of the speedo if needed (e.g. cruise control).

You have a few. #1 re-gear the axles for the size tire you are running. #2, get a recalibration gear box for the cable, a good speedometer shop or on-line places have them. #3, determine how far off you are (GPS works great) and just account fhr the difference.
