Speedhut Reverse HVAC Controls

Not sure if there is any interest, but I wrote to Speedhut to see if they could make a reverse indiglo HVAC control panel (99+ 4 Runner)to match the reverse indiglo gauges being tooled. Again, they need 25 pre-orders. Can we get a show of hands if anyone is interested??

Here's what they wrote back to me:

Hi,

If you are interested in becoming a Group Leader for your HVAC cluster,
please read the info below:

***The Group Leader is the one who sends in the cluster for his car.
Please don't use your own vehicle's cluster, we don't send it back. The
best thing is to get a cluster from a junkyard (it does NOT have to be
in working condition HOWEVER it DOES need to have everything intact - ie
needles, etc).

Please do not spend a lot of money on Postage sending your cluster to
us. Send it Ground Mail or whichever way is cheapest. Please make sure
it is INSURED for your protection! ***And remember to add your contact
information in the package.

Once you send it to us we will consider you the Group Leader for your
vehicle. We will then be able to add your cluster to our Group Buy
Program. Then it will be up to you, as the Group Leader, to answer
emails pertaining to your cluster about the Group Buy. We will be in
contact with you through out the process.

Once we receive 25 Pre Orders we will begin tooling for your car. You as
the Group leader will get your EL-Glo Dial kit for FREE. We also offer
additional discounts to you and your Group. *Free Text, Free Graphics
(ie Flames, Race Stripes, etc), Free Logo's off of our Standard Logo
page. In addition, we have your Group (through you) pick one additional
logo to add to your list of options. Usually this is your Cars Make or
Group Logo.

The price for our Pre Order Program HVAC Kit's is generally around
$39.95 plus $8.00 USA S&H per Pre Order.

Thank you for your interest and please email us if there are any further
questions.

***Please check out our NEW 2" Custom Gauge Line at www.Speedhut.com!
Customize your Dial, Bezel and Pointer to match your interior! We will
be adding New Custom Products to our Gauge Line next week. Please check
back!

Thanks,

Speedhut.com team

Matt:

Just need to find a "doner" panel to send to them. I may check out some wrecking yards or someone parting a 4 Runner out. I bet quite a few of the peeps who ordered the gauges would want the HVAC panel to match.

Pfdaxe,
If I get some time this week, I'll check with the junk yard that I bought my replacement fog lamp from. Keep me posted if you find anything and we don't need to let this thread die. Hopefully, the guys who are buying the instrument panel gauges will jump on this soon.

This would be a great idea! I remember someone posting, that there already white face HVAC covers but were not indiglo, it was just a replacement cover.

If you can get the ball rolling I will order one. I think it would complete the look.

Oh no, here we go again. I am in hands down. But the last time we triedto get twenty people to get on board for this took us about a year anda half. Nice going though. Way to step up!

I think I may have a solution to getting Speedhut a "doner" a/c panel. Since buying from the stealer maybe a bit much and trying to find a wrecked one being parted, I may order the white Nu-Image face and sending it in. The place listed below is local so I could just go pick it up. It may cost me $30 for the Nu-Image one, but Speedhut would give me an indiglo one for nothing for being a doner. Also, Nu-Image claims their panel is for 98,99 & 00. Are the 96,97,01 & 02 different???

Paul

ps: Here's a link for details and pic of the Nu-Image panel:

Pfdaxe,
That is quite a bit different than my '01 panel. Hopefully this weekend I can run by a junkyard and see if they have one.

Matt

PS Look at my webshots pics and you can see the pics of the '01 panel.

Yeah, Matt is right. That is very different from my 01' panel. That is a good idea though. Would Speedhut need two donors then? Pre 00 & 01 and up?

Yep:

I checked my 4 Runner brochures and there is pre-01 and then there is 01 & 02. And yes...they would probably need 2 doners. Why O why do they do this to us

I think the 99-00 ones have the square plastic piece in the middle that covers the chassis indicator and prolly the 2wd ones are the same for 01-02 since it isnt needed. maybe i'm talking about a different thing????

Realize that there would have to be twenty orders for 'up to 00' and another twenty for 01 & up.

I located a few OEM "donors" at local bone yards. The going rate is about $35/$40 for the complete control.
