special tool for timimg belt change

does anyone have the dimensions for that compressing tool? like the length and the length when spread enough to pin the tennsioner back. im doing the belt this weekend and am making my own tool. and any advice would be greatly taken as i have never done this before. 219,500 on original belt. i will photo everything and post.

Sorry, I don't. I just replaced my tensioner when I did it and it came pinned and compressed.

The tool is great to have. The only thing I can caution you on is that it fits between the tensioner pulley and the water pump pulley, so if you use one, compress the tensioner VERY slowly otherwise you will bust off the front of the water pump. I have done this on more than one occasion, however I know better now. You can use a small diameter trim nail, but a little larger than a paper clip. Compress the tensioner all the way and back off one or two threads with the tool and you will be close. Good luck.
