Sparkplug wires in anysize (7mm-10mm) you want

A buddy sent me this link today http://www.wires4cars.com/ . This site you can get wires in any size from 7mm - 10mm and they actually have 22re avaliable which suprised me. I dunno how their service is, I was hopeing that someone here has dealt with them and can give some feedback. Figured I would throw this out there to everyone who may be interested. I searched and didn't find a thread on them so I hope this isn't a repost.

Nice find. But what I really wanted to say was that your avatar rocks.

Just fyi...

I just ordered a set of 8mm wires from them - I was looking for something larger than stock anyway.

I'll let you know how it goes.

(and G - the website worked fine at checkout )

Cool that wasn't too slow either. I'll have to buy a set after I buy new brakes, must find brembos. I'll go 10mm though just because thats the biggest they offer and its only 32 bucks.

Yeah... I was thinking about running 10mm, but there's a point of diminishing returns (thanks G!). 8-9mm is about it when it comes to keeping resistance to a minimum and maximizing current carrying capability in this application.

None-the-less, they'll be a huge improvement over my stock set!

Wires are on!

They're VERY nice. The boots fit well, they look great, and (of course) the engine feels better after moving from 5mm to 8mm wires.

Highly recommended.

Where did you find them, I went to the site and they have nothing for 3.4 4Runners. I did find V6 3.4 5VZFE 2WD & 4WD (5mm) $38.04
under Tacoma, but those are the 5mm..

Did I miss something?

The site's a little weird to work through...
  • Start at http://www.wires4cars.com/
  • Select your make of car/truck
  • Scroll to find your model
  • Click on the BUY button next to your model (note that they have the 5VZFE mismarked as a 2.7)
  • On the next screen you can pick size, wire color and sleeve color

Enjoy!

Just wanted to say that I just talked on the phone with one of the guys, I'm guessing the guy that runs the business. I talked to him about a few of the problems a couple of buddies of mine were having along with myself. He was very friendly and I helped him diagnose the problem with his site. For that he gave me free shipping on my wires which was really cool. Said that they would goto manufacturing and should be shipped out today. Judging by midiwall's experience with them I don't think that I'll ever goto a parts house for wires again.

Do you have to have sleeves or are they not needed on our rigs(I have the 5VZ-FE)?

Well I just found out I have to get 9mm because they can't fit the 10mm into the toyota boots. He e-mailed me and asked before he fabricated up 9mm.

I dunno about the whole sleeve thing, I doubt that sleeves are needed.

No, you don't need to add a sleeve.

The sleeve is an additional plastic coating around the plug wire itself for the purpose of adding color to the wire. If you don't order a sleeve, then you'll see the wire color itself which is your choice of black, red or blue.

Stupid question follows:

If you have a stock truck, any particular reason to increase the size of your wires?

The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.

Any time that you can get more current to your plugs (or otherwise reduce unwanted resistance in any electrical circuit) it's a good thing. In this regard (i.e., electrical), my engine is pretty stock and I noticed a difference in moving from 5mm to 8mm wires.

You should replace your wires every 2-3 years anyway... The high voltage breaks down the insulation and the wire itself. If you're due for new wires, you might as well get some nice ones.
