Hey people,

Just curious: for those of you w/spacer lifts & stock coils, how much of a handling/ride difference have you noticed? Have you had to change your driving style dramatically or is it the same old?

Note: no I don't drive my 4Runner like a race car but in the event that I'm at freeway speeds & need to swerve to avoid an accident, etc. I'm just curious right now & like to try to think ahead. I consider myself a safe driver.

I think mine handles and rides better. Of course I do have bigger tires with more tread on the road. I do tend to take corners alittle slower since lifting. But that goes with any type of lift on any vehicle.

just as said above, you should watch your speeds on corners, though as for normal drive it shouldn't have much effect. As long as you've kept your sway bars connected you're rig should be steering/driving pretty close to normal.

Right after the lift it seemed a bit more stiff but then that was on the old tires, they needed to be replace anyway. After putting on the new 285 I think it does handle better but it is still a little stiffer than before but then again you are compressing the spring more now
I take turns now the same as before and it seems to lay flat better than before.

Spacers definatley make the ride alot stiffer, but that is like any lifted truck I've ever been in, aside from my friends Jeep GC on a Sky Jacker, that is a nice ride. But my Runner stiffend up alot, I kind like it now, but as for handeling, the larer tires have delagated the slower enrance speed on turns. I think you will be jsut fine when it comes to avasive manuvers, the Bils make the bigget difference, they acutally ahve me haul'n it into turns alot more often b/c of the near flat cornering the give. So I think spacers are just fine, they don't inhibit anything in the wayof safty, but the do stiffen things, but I wold like to ride in a rig w/ RaceRunners just so I could feel if there is a difference at all in comfort.
