Thumbs up some days You win

last week i checked my rig underhood, things like plugs etc.
I found one of my spark plug wires was perished near one end(plug end).I knew it was possibly not opperating at best but overall my runner wasnt running to bad (i Thought).
Anyway,I went to a local Auto electrical supplies store. No fancy salesmen or anything just a couple of blokes behide a workshop type counter.I said to the Man (At 4:30 in the afternoon) im after a plug lead for my runner,I told him i had one that was a little worse for wear.He said lets have a look,so we go & take the lead off.
while we were trying to unhook it from the clips etc , the perished area basicly broke clean off .
He goes "Oh ˟˟˟˟ we better fix that for ya".So he takes me around the other side of the counter & proceeds to fiddle with my stuffed lead,He spent about 20 minutes REPAIRING the thing right in front of me. he used each end of the old end & used a new piece of lead from a roll on the bench.Impressive eh ,I had know idea you could do that.
At the end of all that He only charged me $10 ($5 US)
I put the lead back in & straight away noticed that it was idling smoother,& i got a bit of a surprise when i pulled out of the park,it was quite a bit more nippy.

Ill never be going anywhere else for my auto electric needs,Infact ill get him to do the rest of my leads soon,& get some new plugs, maybe some of those NGK V-Grove.
It's been a good day

Yes i would reccomend everyone try to find a local store like this, instead of paying heaps at franchise stores like repco or auto zone etc.

He is only charging wholesale prices ,Ca-ching.

Ha, you can't very easily find a place like that in California since the economy in the hole. Everyone is out for money and no one cares about anybody. It's really sad. Wanna trade countries?

I use to do that when I worked for Lincoln Mercury. I was a light line tech and got spiffs for upsales. Well I would look for the upsales like the 3.8 litre head gasket recalls. they could charge over $100 just to look at a car once they go. Well I would put it on my work orders that there would be seepage if there was and end up saving a customer money while at the same time making the company & myself money. there are not a lot of people out there willing to look out for others. There are so many pewople out there so quick to rob just about anyone looking for help. sad.
