So would these give me a super lift?

any ideas/suggestions? Im guessing they could be trimmed down to the right height but im wondering about the ride quality? He said it rode hard for a tundra, woudl it be unbearable for a 4runner?

I can't imagine it would be a good idea to trim down a spring, but...

Since they are meant for a tundra, which I assume is noticably heavier than our 4Runner, you should get more lift and an even harsher ride. How much lift and how harsh a ride is hard to say, but if stock TRD tundra springs give ~2" of lift, then lift springs for a tundra must give more in the neighborhood of 3.5".

I'd be really, really careful with those if you get them... personally, I wouldn't let them within 10' of my truck.

Those things are probably stiff enough to rip the spring perches right off the frame.
I would definately not try that on my vehicle without knowing what the spring rate was.

For the price I think they are worth a try. I currently have 4Runner PP springs and 2" lift spacers to net about 2 1/2" of lift. I have a nice ride and it flexes very well in the rocks.

These may actually be the same spring rate, but just a longer spring...

I wouldn't pay a lot for something that's unsure, but for $25 it seems to be worth a try. Remember, when someone says "it's a harsh ride" that's like describing a good movie. One person may love it and another think it's crap.

I'd find out if they were for a 4x2 or 4x4 before bidding.

usually lopping off a single coil wont do anything to the performance and does almost nothing to the spring rate. very common ghetto move to lower a car (read dastun 510)

Yes the ride would be alot harsher for a 4runner than a tundra. The spring constant was probably too high for the tundra which means it will def. be too high for a 4runner. Since I have no idea how much lift if any that gave for a tundra or what kind of lift you are going for I'll just say that cutting springs will work as long as you cut from the right side and don't cut off too much. Could it work, maybe, should you do it....no, but that's just my opinion.

If I can pick them up for cheap I might ge them. Im thinking of a bumper for the front which will add some weight and if i add a winch thats even more. That would take care of some of the spring rate. As stated above trimming can be done as long as a complete loop is done so they still line up. Im ganna keep my eyes on them.
