Once I got the van back, I rechecked all the tire pressures to get them where I wanted, reset the pressure monitoring system by pushing the little button, and now I don't have to worry about my wife having a slow leak tire stranding her because now she knows what that light means and what to do about it.

We had a tire "blow out" on our 2000 sienna at about 70 mph... It (the light) came on just a few seconds before the tire completely came apart giving me just enough warning to not be totally surprised. It really worked great, but later after a new tire was put on... the warning light would come on every drive.
After a couple of trips to Toyota, I was told that it (warning system) was being set off because of the different size of the tires. The tires were all the same size but the one new one had more tread on it, hence a larger diameter causing the tire to rotate at a different speed than the other tires. This caused the computer to think that there was an inflation problem and the light came on... and on... and on...
I am not sure if this is how the newer systems are...
