I bought a pair of $120 from Dave at Rock Solid Products in AZ.

They are one wall with 3 contact point tubes to the frame. The front tube on each side is longer because the frame tapers in. When I received the sliders that front tubing was cut short, but I did not find that out until my welder had welded on the scab plates to the end. To correct this we had to cut the other tubes shorter to correct length and re-weld the new scab plates. And now after the sliders are welded on they don't stick out enough for side protection, thus not that functional.

I was originally quoted $75 for 1 hour work after the issues it ended up costing me $150 to get them on there right.

Last week I called up Dave and asked for him to give me the 2nd wall for free because of the issues. And now I will have to spend another $75 to get that welded on.

I then called him up again today, and he might not be able get me the 2nd wall because of circumstances that are beyond his control. He wants to give me some $$ back, I feel like I should be compensated for the extra money to get them welded on and now to have somebody else weld on a second wall so I have enough side protection.

How much should I be compensated? A pair of $120 sliders have now turned into $345 to get them done correctly. What do you guys think about all this.

I know how it feels to get parts that don't work right, but you should have gotten on your arse and test fitted them befor even going to the welder. So, its their fault for shipping a bad part, and your fault for having that bad part welded on. So, if they don't fully compensate you, I would not blame them. To fix the problem I would weld in a section of square tubing to push them out to desired length, that is what someone else did.

That sounds like a raw deal. Never heard of Rock Solid Products though. You could have had Slee sliders for $345...
