Shrockworks bumper for 3rd gens & Tacomas
Please show your interest and support! It would be awesome to have another option besides TJM and ARB.
If your not familiar with Shrockworks, look what they have for 4th gens...

I think the 3rd gens. desperately need another option besides TJM and ARB, but I heard it was a long battle for the 4th gens to get their bumper squared away.
That being said, the Shrockworks bumper is absolutely sick aesthetically and would look nasty on a 3rd.

I think someone needs to make LED tail lights and projector headlights for 3rd Gen's! But that's just me.. That Shrockwork bumper does look badass though..

id buy a set of the projector headlights.
there is a thread on here somewhere about a guy hand making his own projector headlights and that he was going to sell them.

Right on! That's a really nice front end. I just checked out their site, $1000 for a bumper before the options start. I hope they can get the prices down a little for the 3RD's, to keep in competition with the TJM and ARB. After you put all that nice stuff on it your looking at a $2000 price tag.

Shrockworks info
Here is a side shot and some bare shots of the other tube options..
- 3/16", 1/4" Plate steel consrtuction
- Black powder coat
- Accepts most non-integrated solenoid winches up to 9500 lbs.
- Tubular center hoop and headlight guard hoops. 2"x.120 &
1.5"x.120 Tube
- Holes for mounting driving lights on top of bumper under center hoop
- Place to mount 4" aftermarket fogs or Driving lights (PIAA 510)
- Integrated Turn sigals (lights included)
- Two Recovery Points. They are a FULL 1/2" THICK steel. Welded front and rear. Accept 3/4" Clevis shackles.
Options:
- No Tube
- Center Hoop only
- Gray Powder coat
- xtra tabs for antennas, wires, lights etc.
As for the price, we need to evaluate the costs. A ballpark is just like our 05 tacoma bumper $979 (black PC, Full Tube). To get further info about price call and talk to Jim.
The frame end on the 4runner has a thin cap and the bottoms and inner edges would need to be ground flush with the frame. It is not necessary to do an end cap mod (there are 4 bolting locations to the frame already) but since I had the grinder out I did it. Now there are 5 locations each bracket. Drilling of 2 3/8" holes are reqd. each rail, is just enlarging an existing hole.
enjoy,
Nick

I wonder if it is airbag compatible? With the recovery points up on the front I'm guessing it may have to be braced down to the chassis somehow which could affect the crushcans. Anyone know?

I read a spec sheet somewhere that the airbags on the 3rd gen's are deceleration-activated. Take it with a grain of salt, since this is just something I read, and I can't even remember where, but it doesn't seem like anyone making custom bumpers has ever had much of a problem.
