Should I Line-X or powdercoat my sliders?
I just received my sliders today and am considering either powdercoating them or Line-X them. I'm leaning more toward the Line-X since I will less likely slip on them if I step on them when wet. What do you all think? To get them Line-X'ed is going to be $50, not sure on Powdercoating.

Salue, what brand did you get?
Local powder coaters will want $100 or more to do it.
That was my estimate, and I had that 3M tape on them, and they told me I'd have to strip them down, and I had no means to do it.
Jeff at Badland Bumpers had just hooked up with a powder coating guy and could do it for $40 to $60, which is a steal.
Jeff now tacks on $60 to the price of his sliderz to get them powder coated.
It cost me around $70 or $80, as the guy had to sandblast the heck out of them to get that 3M Outdoor Treads tape off.
Lesson learned, no more 3M tape.
It also cuts the back of your legs wide open if you wear shorts and scrape against it like I did a few times.
Either app you want will look very good.
I happen to like the powder coated look though.
It can be touched up on the bottom with rattle can paint after scraping.
I stand on mine all the time for the roof rack and washing the rig, and the powder is holding up great.
No nicks since last October when it was applied.

I won these off of Ebay, and I must say they are of excellent quality. Here's the guy's site....http://www.weldpro.homestead.com He's a really nice guy, plus I won them for $185.....$214 with shipping. He's actually selling another pair on Ebay right now that ends in a couple of hours. sliders on ebay

If you can get them Line-X'd for $50, then I would try to swing that. IIRC, that is ridiculously cheap. Not sure how that stuff is for touch up though.
Mine are Rustoleum Textured, as in the rattle can. Easy touch ups, pretty tough, enough grip to stand on for assorted goofiness.

Rattle can it because they're just going to get scraped up anyway. Get this non-abrasive antislip strip from mcmastercarr. It won't tear your leg up and it's a heck of a lot cheaper than at the store. At my OSH they wanted something like $1+ per foot and I needed about 10-12 feet for both sliders. mcmaster has 15' rolls for $5

I've got mine Line-Xed. They have held up great. The LX dealer said he would touch them up when the got bad for free!! The touch up blends right in. I got tired of the paint fading and getting sandblasted off from the snow plows in the mountains.

The Line-X shop here actually did mine for free since I had him do my bed. I aksed him how much to do them and he said bring em in and I will do them the at the same time, same price. Pretty cool!
If you can get them done for $50 do it! I think that is a good deal.

You need a locker!!!! Night and Day difference. Since this truck, I will never be without a locker again! I also think selectable is way worth the extra cash. It's the only thing above the S/C in terms of smile factor.
There are quite a few trails around that you would have no prob with here., including a great one up in the Organs.

I would love to have the Toy electric locker like you but I'll probably get an ARB. Less axle mods. Very similar expense except I have to buy an expensive air compressor which might be useful on the trail. Dunno. I definately need to get sliders soon.

Just got back from picking the sliders up from the Line-X shop and I must say that they look awesome.
The best part is that when I went to pick them up, the manager was in and told me that the guy quoted me wrong($25/per side) and that it should have cost somewhere between $60 to $70 per side. He said that the main reason was because of the wasted Line-X. Something about the spray pattern being so wide that he wasted more than what actually gets sprayed onto the sliders. But, since his guy already quoted me that price I didn't have to pay any more. I'm very happy I got them Line-X'ed....I probably wouldn't have gotten them sprayed if I knew they would cost ~$150 but if you even pay that, they are worth it.
