Question Should I lift my 03 Tundra?

I want to lift my 03 Tundra and would like to know what problems to expect if any. I'm thinking about a 2.5" susp. and a 3" body. I'm not a "hard core" 4 wheeler but need that extra clearance for the offroading I do. No offense to anyone that has theirs lifted, but will a lift screw up my truck?undefined

Thumbs up

Should you lift it? Absoltuley!

I'm not familar with the Tundra suspension but in general most people don't have problems with setups like that on their Tacomas. In fact that's a very common combo... You may need a front diff drop. Your truck will look a lot better with a few extra inches underneath.

Do you want the thread here or in the Tundra section?

You are asking a off-road forum if you should lift your Tundra? He!! yes you should!

3 in body lift is a little too much for my tastes. If I were to do a body lift it would be a 1in lift.

Yeah, keep the BL to the min...1" tops...get some coil spacers and/or coilovers and be creative in your application/collaberation of the two and you could get 3-3.5" easy...I have 4"+ on my 4th gen runner with 35's, all suspension lift components...just had to design the parts and have them machined.

Becareful though if you do go that route as earlier generations of the Tundra (2000-02) had problems of torn CV boots as a result of the clamps not strong enough for the angle at which the lift places the halfshafts. The newer ones maybe okay, but make sure to check out the boots so often in case they do decide to tear. There is a company that makes stronger boots, but forgot the name at the moment.

There are boots all over the net...that will be the least of your worries...just run a search. Takes an hour or two to rip off the old ones, add some grease, and throw the new ones on...really no big deal...though still a valid one. Good luck, keep us posted on the Tundra.
