Question should i buy this 98 taco (trd sc, lifted, 33", etc.)? OR should i buy stock '96??

so i've been looking for a newer taco/runner since i sold my '95 runner and '84 pickup. one of my friends back home is selling his '98 taco sr5 and i wanted to see if you guys could check it out and lemme know what you think...

the truck has 100k miles on it, 3.4L v6, 5-speed, dark green in color, grey int, etc. the truck has a pretty extensive mod list:

Trd supercharger
2.1" supergrip URD pulley
ported heads oversized valves
JBA ceramic headers and crossover pipe
Centerforce DUAL Friction clutch
456 movitve gears for front and rear
ARB air compresser and rear ARB air locker
four piston calipers
chrome nerf bars
reenforced rear axle

3.5 " spacer lift
pro comp adjustable rear shocks
33" Toyo MUD Terrain tires (Brand new)
16" american racing mojave chrome rims

fiber glass kickpanels
fiber glass A and B pilars housing infinity kappa tweeters and boost guage
set of infinity kappa component speakers (doors and pilars)
set of infinity kappa 2-way speakers (kick panels)
set of infinity kappa 3-way speakers ( rear)
rockford mono power 1001 bd ( subs)
rockford four channel 750X (voice speakers)
for apline type-R 12s
custom box
two batteries
one capacitor

URD fuel upgrade kit-
The components contained in the complete kit are
-Six new 318cc Bosch fuel injectors modified to fit the 3.4 fuel rail and intake manifold
-Six wire harness adapter plugs
-Six 2 steps cooler performance spark plugs
-170 degree performance thermostat
-Walbro 190 LPH pump
-URD Performance Calibration Unit with ESC
-Restrictor T fitting and nylon vacuum line for connecting the URD PCU to the supercharger
-Tuning software
-Vehicle specific installation guide
-Shrink tubing

there are some bad things on this truck that concern me. like there is a check engine light because one (or both) of the knock sensors threw a code. i'm not sure what caused it to throw the code, but i'm assuming it could have been anything from bad gas causing some "pinging" noises in the combustion chamber to the ignition timing not tuned right with the URD computer. either way i'll need to replace the knock sensors and fix the problem that caused them to blow in the first place.

also, the right front fender is dented all to hell and there is a nice big scratch all along the right side of the truck. other than that its pretty stout. the guy who's selling it wants $13k for the truck and i just wanted to know what you guys think. lemme know!!

hey so, i also have another buddy selling a '96 sr5 ex-cab that has 88,500 miles for $9k. its got an automatic tranny, clean interior, straight body (no dents/scratches), long maintance record, etc. its pretty much the opposite of this ^ truck. its pretty much stock minus a front bumper grill, cd player, and some '05 taco wheels with new tires. oh, its white exterior with a tan/black interior. i don't think it has a rear dif. lock or not...anyway to find out??

does it sound like this one would be a better deal???

Both sound over priced IMO.

In my area at least.

Especially the first one though. If it didn't have the body damage maybe..

so i backed out on the deal for the green '98 in the pics. i didn't want to buy someone else's project because i have no idea what kind of problems it has and how hacked up it is.

instead i bought the '96 which i found out is a '95.5 actually! i'm exciting to get the truck and i can't wait to start doing some of my own personal mods to the truck! thanks for the help!
