Sequoia Funny Noise
Hey Guys,
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I'll start here. My sister has a 2001 Sequoia 4x4. She lives up in Cleveland, OH and is having a strange noise happening when she travels between 35 - 40 MPH. She described the noise as a rubbing noise and feels a circular motion feeling under her left foot.
The original Toyota dealer told her that her tires were causing the problem, so she bought new tires and made sure the alignment was ok.
The problem still occurred and the dealer can not find the cause. She took it to another dealer and they said it may be the traction control. But they are not sure.
If any of you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks
Scott

Hey Paul,
No, I am in Atlanta and she is in Cleveland. But I read from another board (Tundrasolutions) the following:
"I don't have the receipts in front of me, but they totaled about 1500 bucks in warranty repair and included the diff replacement and wheel bearing/seals/gear oil/etc.
Now, I do need to say that I think the wheel bearing fixed noise number two (the humming w/ the pitch change from 0-50 and back down again 50-0), and I didn't hear noise #1 (the vibration at around 40mph), but I will definitely know tomorrow morning if it's gone for good (gonna be cold tomorrow morning).
So, I am here to help anyone else w/ info so you guys can get this fixed too. Just let me know how I can help.
I will say that I have regained my faith in Toyota because they made good on this noise and stopped saying that it was "normal".
Thanks to everyone who provided great insight on these noises, without this board, I don't think I would have been knowledgeable enough to help them pinpoint the noises."
I am hoping this is the cause. Oh yeah, the truck is still under warranty
