Sequential Fuel Injection

OK. I've now heard it mentioned a few times so I thought I'd ask. I've heard that the V6 3VZE which came out in 1992 and later is actually better for fuel efficiency due to "sequential fuel injection". Apparently, pre-'92 3VZEs did not have this technology and actually waste fuel during the cycle.

Has anyone else heard about this and if so, is it just the computer that dictates this? I would be interested in knowing how to make mine more efficient and if I just need the newer computer then great!

Thanks much,

Warren
