To Sell or Part out my runner... that is the question
I have a 1996 toyota 4runner. It is built up pretty decently. It has 125xxx miles on it. it is the 3.4 v6 w/ supercharger. it has the urd upgrade boost pulley. the aquamist is there but not completly hooked up. it has the urd complete fuel system in it. edelbrock headers. jardine catback. chrome altezza lights. newer tires. i have the urd crank pulley not installed new still. the level ten transmission w/ torque converter rebuild and clutch packs with about 10k miles on it. and i am sure more parts but i don't remember at the moment. do you think that it is worth more to sell it out right or to sell it for parts. i am looking for a new yota so this little project of mine has to go. but a pickup is now more of what i need with my new job. any advice would be appreciated.
thanks

Part it out
Wow... your 3rd gen is fully built with the mods you listed...or darn close to be....I would say your best bet is to return it back to stock and part out all the after market goodies because a 96 4runner with 125,XXX miles on it, is still pretty darn good.
I'll be interested in URD Crank Pulley, let me know.

mostly the transmission is the biggest ticket item and that is what is throwing me for the most loop. because i can't return that to stock. also i can't take off the headers because i beat them up pretty good removing them. i have found the trd yellow lift springs for the rear that i never installed. i also have a new set of injectors for the urd fuel system and a new set of plugs. as for the crank pulley how is 220 shipped. it is still in the urd packaging.

why would you part it out? I 96 4runner with low miles and a supercharger will sell for 10K or more. You cant part it out for 1/2 that. Not to mention the hasle of parting it out. Too many people on here are lookie loos and will complain about your price. Trust me when I say, its just not worth it.
Is there something wrong with the truck? Like its wrecked or rolled?

it has never been wrecked or rolled... it has custom tribal graphics on it. the hood has two small dents. the front two doors are lambo. i changed the whole interior to black. new carpet headliner etc. the only thing still brown are the seats. i planned on changing them to black as well but never got around to it.

I say sell it as is.....and for the pic posting, it is probably easiest to post them on photobucket.com, then use the url below each pic and attatch it to the url picture link in this site. (if that makes sense)

If you're willing to put in the labor yourself to remove the supercharger, water injection, URD fuel and pulleys, I would definitely remove those and sell them separately. Those are the big dollar items, (in comparison to the jardine exhaust for instance), that are in demand and will sell on ebay for roughly 2/3's of retail. If you're paying someone to remove these things... forget about it and sell it as is.
