this seems weird to me....

the truck i bought is 97....the door jam date is 5/97.....
i ran the vin on a website and it says i have two air bags.....i dont see the popout in the dash for it lol

and from i read the 95.5 to 97 had distribors and 98 on had coil packs.....well i have coil packs on mine and i have the 2.7

do you think the po maybe did a motor swap or something?

Maybe its a 1997 with 1998 parts? Maybe in may of 97 toyota switched to coilpacks during mid year. just my thoughts.

Your motor is a 3rz-fe, you have that motor if you have coil packs. The 2rz-fe had the distributor.

ok maybe i just miss read what the person posted at ttora

here it is
The older 2.7L engines have distributors, but from about 1998-up they converted the 2.7L to coilpacks like the 3.4L has.

Check the emissions sticker under the hood. That is the be-all tell-all for what model year your truck is. 5/97 may well be an early '98.

ill do that tomarrow when i checked for leaf springs most sites ask if its 5/97 or 6/97
