Secret CB Antenna?

I found this on JC whitney and its supposed to make your AM/FM antenna work on your CB so that nobody can tell there is a CB in there. Do you guys think it would work? I thought CBs needed special antennas?

It will not work any where near you want it to. A cb antenea needs to be able to recive as well as transmit. A reg am/fm antenea only recives. If you want to do both what you do is get a fire stick and get the module to have the cb antena work for the am/fm antena. If you have more?

Yotafool, there is a way to hook the CB antenna to the AM/FM radio. I bought one at a garage sale. Its a little box that connects all together. They should be available at places that sell CBs.

Using the AM/FM antenna isn't a good idea. There is no way to adjust the SWR since they are either a standard length or go up and down with a motor. My electric one doesn't always go up or down all the way. The high SWR could quickly burn up your CB.

I looked into this before and I think it's a bad idea because the length of the antenna coresponds to the wavelength of the frequencies that you are trying to recieve or transmit. Since AM/FM and CB are different frequencies you will end up significantly sacrificing performance on one or the other.

Sure you can, just cut it. Back in the day that was how you adjusted your antenna. Nobody ever burns thier CB up either. if its legal its 4 watts and even if all you have is 4 feet of coax hanging out the back youre fine.

BTW- My personal prefrence is the Wilson antennas. They are a lot thinner than a firestick and work just as well. I have a 5.5 footer that cost $17.
