Sealing door jams and such...

My first question here, YAHOO!

I saw Lee make mention of siliconing the door seals for more watertight seams during water crossing. This had me thinking that if it keeps out water, it will probably keep out other crap as well.

So, what have you all used to seal the doors better?

Where exactly did you run the silicone or other sealant?

How long has it lasted and how well does it work?

Thanks,
Adrian

Mine need a better sealing too.

I actually prefer to go wheeling when it's wet out up at Greenwater as when it's dry, the dust is bad.
When it's wet up there, nothing comes in as no dust is flying around.

Even with the windows up the flying dust comes in through the doors on the sides and when I get home, the carpet, door sills, and even the seats have dirt and heavy dust all over them.

Not good for the allergy inflicted.
Ahchoooo!

Right on Corey, I am not looking to replace the current stuff, I am looking to add to it, preferably with a tube of something that will allow me to add beads of stuff.

It must be the way the 4 door 4Runners doors are made.
I showed Jim & his wife last summer up there all the dirt & dust that came into my rig.

They have an '89 Extracab, and they did not have that problem when I looked inside their door.
There has to be a way to get a better seal.

All my seals are on tight too and in like new condition.
