Was out doing a bit of my favorite past times, and came across a gent who had recently had the local Toyota dealer remove the TRD supercharger that had been factory installed on his 2000 Toyota Sport 4runner. Had about 60k on it when he had it removed and returned his 4runner back to a stock SR5. I have been contemplating the acquisiton and istallation of a SC for awhile so when I came across this gem at a price that made it a tempting project with his price being rather reasonable, plus it seems he has more then just the SC, there was the intake manifold, injectors, bolts serpetine belts (one brand new) along with a few minor odds and ends I took the first step. He told me that the dealer had an issue in the removal and that I only need to replace a bracket, ( can't remember what is was called, maybe something to do with the water pump....) and he wasn't even sure about what it was, but assured me that every thing was there, so I purchased it.

Sooooo, here in now lies my question(s) for those of you who HAVE installed the TRD Supercharger.

What is the cost of doing this mod to a stock SR5/Limited gen 3 (less the cost of the SC)?

What other mods need to be done to make it as efficient as possible?

Besides the cost of the SC, what other items are needed to complete this mod?

How many hours (estimated) does it take to install this to the point of driving it again?

Even with the upgrading to premium fuel, what is the increase (+) or decrease (-) in fuel economy with the SC installed verses stock? This quesiton is in consideration of driving the vehicle in the same manner as before installation of the SC, normal, non-wheel spinning, romping on the throttle daily driving.

What is really involved in "tuning" the vehicle? I read some of the threads here but no one really describes the how to of this.

Ok that should do it for now, I am going to be on travel for the next few weeks and wanted to get this out so I can make a decision on wether to pursue this mod or not. After I get some more input from you guys, I will then decide to either install or sell the SC. I will decide after evaluating further the input I get from fellow Yota tech'ers.
