Safari Rack on 1st gen.

I am wanting to put a safari rack on my 1st gen 4runner. What I am curious about, is how much weight can I put on the fiberglass top?
I plan to put extra supports to distribute the weight.

Anybody know how much I can put up there?

THanks
Kent

Sorry, can't help you with the weight figure, but I have a 1st gen, and would be interested in seeing what kind it is.

Any pics?

Hey there Kent.
I have the Loadwarrior on the top of my '88.
Last year i was getting ready to go camping and i got up on my rack.
I tried to stay on my knee's

The rack held up fine along with the fiberglass rain gutters
(i think)
I weigh right around #190.
I put alot of stuff up there and it held nicely.
Hope this helps.

I've put around 300lbs on mine, but only for short trips. The truck was way top-heavy and the mpg's sucked. Just make sure the weight gets spread out.
