Just give the company a call to be sure, and if its not compatible, you still have other options

It's hard to find stuff for older vehicles because most companies jump on the bandwagon recently. Westins only goes back to 98. Although it might work with a little altering. You may have to go to a custom shop and have one bent for you. If your just looking to mount lights though, I'm guessing they could mount right to the bumper.

By the way some applications only go back as far as the company checked or when they started. It's possible that the product fits, they just don't know it. The best thing to do is find out what was different between the 96 and the 98. If it was only minor cosmetic and not over-all shape it would probably fit.

Thumbs up

Right on, yeah I actually want to mount lights but the safari bar looks pretty cool and inexpensive. Ill double check with a couple of fab shops first.
