Running Rich

Hi I am new here but have been reading for a while GREAT SITE.I have an 86 22r that runs super rich when started it barely idles and stalls some times until it gets up to running temp after it is warm it runs fine. Every thing seam to be working on the choke I tried starting and then held it open and still ran rich. If any one has an idea on what might cause this any help would be greatly appriciated thanks! Could it be the fast idle I dont know to much about these things but am learning fast

it is the engine with a carb as in 22r or the efi which is a 22re?

my truck runs rich (85 with a 22r) and i think it might have something to do with my oxygen sonsor on the exhuast collector....

It is the 22r carb. I dont think it is the o2 sensor when it warms up it runs great.

mine is the same way... however, a cold sensor can give a wierded out reading.... the 02 sensor works best heated, and when its not, i have been told it wont work the best...
