Running rich
Hey all,
First off I have a '98 4runner 3.4L. It feels like it has been sluggish and not powerful.
It has been running rich for the past few months. I can smell raw fuel in the exhaust.
While trying to pass a car I got a CEL I pulled the code and it turned out to be the throttle position censor. I cleared it and haven’t got anything since.
Any tips or suggestions?

i had the same code come up from a cel about a year ago...tps sensor - circuit a is what it said. my friend cleared it with his scanner, and it hasn't came back yet. but my truck never has seemed sluggish or ran rich, as my last fill-up proved i got 20.7 mpg with about 50/50 hwy/city driving. the running rich sounds like something else...i'm sure someone can help you more...good luck with the fix man
