Running Board Replacement write up

Running Board Replacement write up
Anyone know of a write up for replacing running boards on a 99 4runner?
Just got a pair ordered from a board member here. Doubt it is too complicated, but of course I would love to hear from some one who has done it before in case there are any nuances in the process.
Thanks

96-98 RBs only fit 96-98 RBs. 99-02 only fit 99-02s. the rear most bolt holes are different. i know this from experience
and if you can't figure this out by looking underneath, we will have to send you back a grade

I checked with the dealer and they said that 96 rbs would fit 99. I told them I was buying a pair of 96 and they said they would fit fine. Dang it, and I already ordered the pair of 96 rbs.

so if you drill a new hole will they fit correctly? Do you mean that the bolt holes dont line up perfectly or that the running boards do not line up with the rest of the vehicle?
I guess what I am wondering is if a simple drilling of a new hole in the right spot will do the trick.
p.s. dont know what "iirc" means/is

I spoke with another yota dealership today and they also said that 96 rbs would fit 99 rbs. They said the bracket kits are the same and that I could probably pop the old ones off the current brackets if I wanted and put the new ones on in the case I did not want to have to unbolt brackets.
I guess the proof will be in a few weeks once I get them on the rig.
I am really looking forward to getting this task done, because it will eliminate a lot of rust from the truck, most of which is on the running boards and parts of the chassis.
From there, it is getting a good waxing and detailing. Then the mod mayhem shall begin!
