RS3000 alarm issues?

Hi all,
I just got a used RS3000 alarm brain and some remotes off of Ebay to get my keyless entry working on my 1998 4runner. I am not particularly worried about the alarm and I wonder if I should disable any features, either via the interface or by cutting/splicing wires, to prevent the alarm going off at 2:00AM. I bought the truck used and it had no remotes so I never used the RS3000 before but I suspected the brain that came with the truck was not 100%. I did have some wackiness with the door lock-unlock convenience/security feature which led me to want to do this. That is to say I'd be driving along and the doors would lock and sometimes unlock with no pattern and minutes after I'd set off. I had no remote so I could not try to disable this feature. I might be able to now although the aftermarket remotes might not have the buttons I need.

Anyway, advice appreciated. I'm happy to have keyless entry working. The ebay RS3000 brain looks newer and has probably eaten a lot less trail dust than the one I pulled out of there. It was pretty easy to get it working with the new remotes from vendor yourkeylessremote.

Thanks,
-Joel.
