rough idleing

Hello,
I have a 97 sr5 4 runner.
It has 135Kon it, It just started to idle roughly, I cleaned the Mass air flow, the air box and tube, I have replaced the spark plugs, the Fuel filter and it still seem to idle poorly,
Any suggestions? Can the catylic converter mess up the idle, my converter seems to smeel a lot more than it did,
Thanks,
Surftaz

Give us a little more description...

does the engine have a timed shudder? Is it just a distant vibration? Is it a miss?

Take a dollar bill and hold it up to your exhaust pipe while the motor is idling, hold it about 1/4 inch from the pipe. If you have a miss, it will pop the dollar bill. Let us know what you find out.

Use some carb cleaner and an old toothbrush to clean your throttle body.
The TB is the most common cause for poor idle.

If you have a clogged converter the performance of the truck at highway would be lacking all power.

Have you checked the PCV valve? Also check for vacum hose crack's/leaks.
