Roof Rack Installed

Well, my roofrack finally arrived from Surco last Wednesday and I busted out the tools and installed it Sunday. I must say it looks really good and adds an "off-road" touch to my 4Runner. However, I encountered a few problems while putting it together.

The main thing being that the instructions are horrible! They provide terrible diagrams while the directions dont even tell you how to do anything past hooking the frame of the rack together. Once I got to the point where I had to attach the mounts, I became completely stumped. The directions told me to attach "Part A" with "Part B" using "Screw 2." Easy, right? Well it would have been if they'd provided a diagram telling me what Part A and Part B was. I ended up tossing the directions out and doing it the way I thought was right.

All in all, it looks great and I can't wait to get some use out of it.

If anyone is interested in a new safari rack, I advocate the use of this product. I purchased mine through Outlander.com out in Cali.

Btw, I'll be posting pics soon.

Well, I took some pics today. However, it snowed about 5 inches last night so you might have a lil trouble seeing the mounting parts. I will have that roll made within a few days and might do a right-up depending on how much time I have. The cost minus shipping was a few bucks over 200 so I think it would be cheaper than most other brands. Pics will be coming soon.

Until then, heres a picture of it ontop a different SUV. The one in the picture extends over the moonroof a few inches farther than mine. I ordered the smaller size, 45x50 and it fits perfectly.
