Rolled my 96 runner... What to do now?

So... I rolled my 4runner on thanksgiving day... and am strapped for cash... do I get junkyard doors make a windshield fit and exo cage it? or do I chop the top and replace with a junkyard top or what? need the fix to be under 2500 any suggestions are appreciated.

I used my hi lift to try to make it so I could get a windshield on there

Want it to be sealed? If a trail rig I'd hammer cRap out and fit glass in it, or chop the top and make a soft top.

What I would so is a single cab taco swap

Well it is also my daily driver... so I need it to be sealed... as soon as im out of college and making real money I will make it solely into a trail rig... but for now i need to keep the weather out...

What I would so is a single cab taco swap
How do the body mounts line up with the single cab? or would the double cab line up better? ... plus i would love to keep the back seats...

That's going to be quite a task to get new doors to fit and seal properly. I think I'd part it out and add those funds to your $2500 then buy something else.

get new doors, windshield and chop the top off a good runner then weld on the new roof. Good luck finding a solid roof though.

x2 with parting it out putting that $$ with the other $2500 for another vehicle.

Once your out of college and making a little more $$$ then get yourself another vehicle. That's not an easy fix.

Im with Vitaly. Very nice rig before it was rolled, so keep it alive. Throw on a new roof to seal it, you sound like you dont need it to be pretty so you could do it for a decent price.

Actually besides the front passenger door the pillars are all in good shape. the drivers side doors are untouched and the back passenger door got bent up but the pillars didn't! but I would really like to fix it up because I don't have anywhere close to enough money to buy another 3rd gen runner... and I can do a lot of the work myself with my friends one of which is a toyota dealership mechanic...

get new doors, windshield and chop the top off a good runner then weld on the new roof. Good luck finding a solid roof though.
Less than 12 hours before I tipped my car I installed $250 in parts (99+ center console, new seats, and 99+ roof console) off a junkyard 4runner that had an excellent roof as it had been in a fairly minor front end collision... I am going to call for a price on that tomorrow... does anyone know what price a junkyard roof should be around?

dang, glad you're alright is that main point. Always sucks to see another one rolled. As for fixing it, it's gonna be hard keeping the weather out. Usually any kind of seals are forever fubard at that point. You can try, but I say part out what you can and give the truck up to the yard for some money. Then, buy a different vehicle. Gonna be a lot of work to get that thing back to where you want it and it all depends on how you stand with having another vehicle to get you around. Sometimes you gotta give up a lot to get back even, just sayin. Good luck with everything though.

and don't forget.. when you play hard, expect to pay hard!! It can happen to anyone. Glad you're alright.

Pretty doesn't get me to work or out wheeling! haha I just want a cheap fix so I can have a rig until I get enough $$$ to make her pretty again. plus... I love this runner... im gonna look around for some threads where guys have put on a new roof. If anyone knows of a good thread or write up for this let me know!

4forsure, is your 4runner black or green? i cant tell in the pic...maybe its the computer I'm on... but I'm looking for a drivers side rear passenger door BLACK in color.... if your runner is black and the door is still good please let me know if you want to sell it! It's for a friend who's runner was broken into and they used a crowbar to pry the door open! f-in rookies!

I like the idea of putting in a roll cage and making it a soft top--ALSO really like the idea of buying a corolla as a DD and making the 4runner a steetable trail rig with soft top and etc....and AC

I think the cheapest thing would be to get the 2nd gen and do the 3.4 swap and part the rest, but if you want to keep your rig go for it. And take lots of pictures.
