Rewind seatbelt?
My front driver and passenger seat belts are driving me nuts! They wont wind back up, you have to manually "feed" it back into the pillar.
I was reading this
Would this work for a 2000 4runner? Im just cautious because it looks like on my seat belt retractors theres something to do with the airbags. Even if it did have something to do with that system, disconnecting the battery, and draining any other electrical charges should prevent anything from happening, right?
I would hate to have to take it to the dealer for this.

same issue with my 94. i pulled the plastic cover off and shot the axle pivots as best i could with tri-flo. seemed to work for a bit, but with our negative degree weather out here, they are back to their same old slo-mo. I may pull the whole units out, disassemble and grease them up when i've got time and heat.
the spring is located in a plastic drum, and the axles can barely be seen between the drum and the housing. real tight fit.

Sorry so late, was just hanging around and came across this post.
I just adjusted mine check this site out:

When winding back up I used a screw driver to put in the slot where the seat belt goes so I could rest my hand. You don't want to let the thing unwind.
It works a little better. Not sure about yours but the hard part for me was getting the side pannel off to get to the seat belt spring.

to much safety issue to be dealing with inside of belt, they tell us at the dealer that they are slow do to gunk build up on the plastic where the belt runs thru at the top near the shoulder, clean this area & alos try some very fine sanding to open it up a little more, there is a bulletin for this for the tundras if any of you have access to them it seems to help for a while
