Replaced Tumbler, Won't Start
Hey!

a Friend of mine has a 2000 4runner that had a tumbler issue (key wouldn't turn), ordered a replacement, installed it... Now key turns, cranks, but does not fire. Check engine light is also on. Is there a sensor that was thrown off? Any suggestions?!

Might want to look into if the truck has a theft deterrent, it sounds like it, if it does you will have to possibly take it to the dealership.

The MIL (malfunction indicator lamp) is on while the key is in the on position and the vehicle is not running. So your "the check engine light is on" sounds normal if the truck won't start.
