Repairing Rusty Doors

I appreciate everyone who helped with the rear window problem I had with my 90 Runner. Now my doors: outside of replacing them is there anyway to fix or hide the rust that is on the bottom inch or so?Truck looks great except for that.Any ideas?Thanks...

hm... well if its not toooo deep then im thinking you could sand it all off and then use body filler. but if the door is chipped any where or theres any holes you would probably need some new metal there. what kinda tools do you have access to?

with fenders, it's really not worth it to repair them, you'll save a couple dollars at most... and they'll most likely rust out again (what the PO did), he replaced the driver side and repaired the passenger side, the driver side still looks like new and my passenger side was rusted through all over again (did the same on my bumper end caps, which are now gone) if its a quarter, door or tailgate, its a bit of a different story though, much more expensive to replace.

but, to answer your question... stealer, tbayauto parts, carpartswholesale , rockauto

go with the CAPA certified part if you want a better fit, like i said, the aftermarket cheapo ones from tbayauto parts lined up not too bad, but its off here and there.. if you want a better look at it, just drive down my street (passenger side)

http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/serv03.htm

They have the pieces to repair the rear quarters.

On the issue of the doors, if you want a long term fix, you need to have new metal welded in.

If you want a more temporary fix, try using fiberglass cloth and resin and then body filler over that. Much more "do it yourself" and inexpensive but not so permanent.

if your talking about rockauto and carpartswholesale...?

rockauto is in nj.. got 2 rear bumper ends shipped to minnesota for $15 (took 3-5 days, can't remember.. the boxes were HUGE! 6.5' x 3' easy) quick responses too, nothing but high marks for their service, also they send out newsletters on a frequent basis giving you 10% off whatever you want, along with 'referral discounts' for friends.

no idea where carpartswholesale is, haven't bought anything off them yet.

Tube doors. J/K
Just goto the junk yard and get new doors.
I got 2 new doors with power windows and locks and a fender for my 4 runner with no rust for like $400.
