removing UCA's ...

I need to install some spacers on top of my strut assemblies (tundra springs/shocks) and think I need to remove the upper control arms to get it done. Any secrets to it, or is it just the two bolts holding it to the frame? (don't need to totally remove, just need to get the LCA down another 1/4 to half inch to fit the strut assembly. I'll need limit straps eventually as at full extension the ball joint will bind with the spring and spacer combo, and a diff drop.

Or is it simpler to remove the upper ball joint? (I undid the bolt, but didn't mess with it too much as I didn't want to take a chance on messing it up).
