Removing rear shocks
So how many times do you hit the top nut of the rear shock (3rd gen 4Runner) with WD-40 or some water dispersant?
I'm also spraying it everywhere since I don't have much visibility, even with the spare out.
I've been spraying mine everyday for about 3 days and it still won't break open.
The strap wrench I used crushed the shock hat a little. Unfortunately, my buddy has some oil in the strap.
The El Cheapo air socket wrench didn't work either.
Do I need to resort to use vice grips or cut the shock out?
Maybe I need to start working out?

Method
Here's a helpful method I tried, and it worked. Take one of your longer wrenches or ratchets, stick it on the nut, and then with your hands turn the actual shock part until the wrench presses up against one of the things sticking down where the mount is. Then once it is pressed up against that, twist the shock with your hands (and make sure you do it in the right direction!). That's the only way that worked for me. It's just in such an awkward place for your to get any decent leverage. Let me know if it works!
