Removing Rear coils - tips
Need any tips from those who have removed the rear coils on a 3rd gen (99). I'm going to be putting in the Air Lift this week and if someone has done this please let me know what to look for . Thanks

disconect the rear sway bar and shocks. The top of the shock is in a tight spot. This should allow enough droop to remove the coils. If you are still having trouble removing them after that, push the axle down on one side and pull the coil out. If you were installing coil spacers then you might need a coil compressor, but not with airbags....

What I did was to disconnect the bottom bolt for the shock (much easier to get to than the top). Buy or rent a coil spring compressor.
Use your jack to compress spring slightly and put on spring compressor (180* apart and at the same length). When you lower the jack the spring stays the same size and its very easy to take out. Drill your hole for the hose and put the bag in the coil. Put coil back in, jack axel to compress the spring slightly and take off the compressors. Do other side. reconnect shocks. Run your hoses. Put your tires back on and your done!
Time for beer
But be careful while that spring is compressed-you dont want to hear BOING!
They have worked great a leveling my truck, but now with the rear higher the LSPV is not letting any pressure get to the rear brakes. So stopping with a heavy load can be fun!

It does need to be custom tho, I have yet to see anything like that offered.
