Removing Freeze Out Plugs
I have never had such a hard time getting freeze out plugs out before, two were leaking so I punched a hole in them and tried to pry them out but no luck. So i then tried to catch the lip with a screwdriver and bend it up a bit so I can pull it out but I can't get it to bend up at all.
Any ideas or hints? It's a 22R in a 85 4Runner.

I replaced them in an old car I have, and most were so bad that no screw or whatever would have held. We just punched on side and they turned sideways and we grabbed them vise grips and pulled them out. Before reinstalling new ones we flushed the engine, lots of rust came out the holes...
