Removing Cat
I got under my car today and me and my friend thought of the idea of taking my cat off. I saw i could just unbold it off and move all my piping back. I saw that there is and o2 sensor before the cat so we figured we wouldnt have any problems doing this. Are we right or is there something we dont know. Also will this cause any problems with the way my runner runs.

Shouldn't be any issues. I don't expect you'll gain much power for the work you'll put in and the good it does. You'll need a "test pipe" or "off-road pipe" to go in it's place or things will get mighty loud. I wouldn't bother with it, but I see no harm in it (as far as damage to your vehicle).

Well if your going to do something Illegal my advice would be to not post it on a forum that several thousand members read. Your only going to get the same response as I gave you. I've seen that question asked tons of times and it always ends the same way. BTW speeding doesn't kill the ozone layer either.

It's illegal to drive on State/city/county/federal roads without a cat. Off-road there is no law against it. I think we all know the laws, and that wasn't his question.

99 Dude I'm not saying I've never done stuff that was illegal but come on man he's posting it for thousands to see. I was just trying to save him the hassle of 30 people telling him it's illegal. If you really want to get rid of it go buy a high flow cat. Also your going to lose precious backpressure if you get rid of it totally and your rig will stink like while your driving....there I answered the stupid question.

Anyhow, we all have our drivers licenses hopefully by the time we get here and theoretically, being fairly technically inclined as a lot of us seem to be on this board, would know what a catalytic converter is and why it's there. When someone talks about their stupid clear corner lamps or something people don't go yelling at them about how they're illegal in a lot of cities. He asked for info, and if you told him in a civil manner that that's illegal, as just an FYI, it wouldn't have been such a big issue.
Peace.

I agree, if you get rid of your cat you may be tossing some torque out the window too.
Might think twice and get the high-flow cat, the 3.0 doesn't have much torque to spare.
